When Botox is injected to the glabella (the area just above and in between the brows) it helps to decrease the frown lines in this area. However, sometimes it can migrate down and affect a muscle located over the upper eyelid that helps to lift the eyelid. When this happens, the upper eyelid appears droopy because the muscle is paralyzed and unable to lift the eyelid.
In general, this is related to the technique of injection. Although it can potentially happen with a qualified surgeon, it is rare if the injection is done at the appropriate location and depth.
However, since the effects of Botox last only about 2.5 to 3 months, this problem will completely resolve.
At Solomon Plastic Surgery, the focus is on doing it right the first time!
